History

Clearpath began as four University of Waterloo mechatronics engineering students decided to create robotics technology that could help the military save lives and avoid casualties. Their plans began to take shape when they entered a robotics ground vehicle competition organized by the U.S. Army. Clearpath's goal was to develop a team of low-cost mobile robots that could employ a divide-and-conquer strategy to clear minefields without risking human life. That was the beginning of a project that would lead to the creation of Husky, an all-terrain unmanned ground vehicle. The goal is to offer Husky to researchers seeking a rugged and reliable research platform.
