History
Bre Pettis, Adam Mayer, and Zach Smith founded MakerBot Industries in January 2009. In 2009, they sold 750 MakerBots, and in 2010, they sold 2,300 MakerBots. As of September 2012, the company had sold more than 13,000 printers and raised $10 million in venture funding. By 2016, they became the first company to sell 100,000 plus 3D printers. The Replicator+ and Replicator Mini+ are the 5th and 6th models created by the company, following the Cupcake CNC and Thing-O-Matic. The Replicator was the first MakerBot to be offered fully assembled.
